What we collect
When you buy. The purchase is handled by WarriorPlus and its payment providers (PayPal or Stripe). They send us your name, email address and the order id so we can create your account. We never see your card number.
When you use the app. We store your email address, a hashed password, the books you make (titles, choices, story text), the pictures you upload, and the PDF files the app builds for you. We keep a short log of logins (date, IP address) to protect your account from password guessing.
Cookies. The app sets one session cookie so you stay logged in and one small preference cookie (for example, which guide panel you closed). The sales page itself sets no advertising cookies. Affiliate tracking for a purchase happens on WarriorPlus, under its own privacy policy.
Email. We email you about your account: your sign-up link, password resets and important changes to the service. If we add a newsletter, it will be opt-in with an unsubscribe link in every message.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not read your books except to answer a support request you send us. We do not use your books or pictures to train AI models. The front end never sends your data to an AI provider; the ELITE upgrade only does so when you add your own OpenRouter key, and that data is covered by OpenRouter's terms.
Where it is stored and for how long
Your data is stored on the server that runs KidQuest Studio. Your account and books stay until you ask us to delete them or until the service closes (we give at least 90 days' notice). Login logs are kept for 90 days. Backups are kept for 30 days.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data at any time: use My account in the app or email leo@leosterling.net. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. The legal basis for processing is the contract with you (your purchase) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
Children are not users of this app. Accounts are for the adults who buy it; the books are printed for children offline.
